2월 21, 2026, Abbey of San Nazzaro
The Abbey of San Nazzaro Sesia is a complex made up of structures from different historical periods. The oldest parts are the bell tower, built as a watchtower, and the two wings of the narthex preceding the façade, which are what remains of the quadriportico built around 1150, shortly after the abbey itself was founded (1040). The cuts resulting from the demolition of the other two sides are still clearly visible today. The narthex is almost entirely made up of stones from the Sesia river arranged in a herringbone pattern to increase its solidity. The mortar itself was obtained from materials found on site, near the Sesia river. It was probably originally used as a “hospitalis”, that is, it served as a place of rest and refreshment for travellers and pilgrims, who we know were very numerous in medieval times, and it also had the function of hosting catechumens.

The castle is well kept, beautiful to look at…. Too bad only from the outside! Today it is home to an events center… In addition, next to it there is the little church of San Martino which is one of the oldest in the Novara area

8월 25, 2024, Torre di Biandrate
Well-preserved tower from the 12th century, the only remaining part of a system of fortifications built on the ancient road that connected Biandrate and Romagnano and to Valsesia. About thirty meters high, with a square plan, in brick, it shows traces of subsequent ancient renovations.

The church was consecrated by bishop Carlo Bascapè on February 28, 1604, as shown by an inscription placed above the main door, in the internal part of the church. Behind the marble high altar, modified in the 18th century, you can see the three oldest frescoes in the church which respectively depict two episodes from the life of Jesus and the Martyrdom of Saint Stephen, to which the parish church is dedicated. More interesting, however, is the wooden crucifix, probably from the late sixteenth century, located in the chapel to the right of the main altar. The "Festone" which is celebrated every 25 years here in Cameriano is connected to the devotion to this crucifix. On that occasion the precious furnishings are transported with solemnity through the streets of the town; the last transport was done on the third Sunday of October 1998.
