Here, thanks to the Panperduto dam, part of the Ticino is diverted and the Industrial Canal and the Villoresi Canal (which has the purpose of irrigating the surrounding fields) are created.

The Panperduto dam is located along the Ticino and represents one of the most important hydraulic junctions in Lombardy. Part of the river's waters are diverted and form the Villoresi canal, which has the purpose of irrigating the numerous fields in the area.

The road is always open, the dam can be reached on foot or by bicycle just a few minutes from a convenient parking. On summer Sundays, parking is not easy but not impossible.

The Panperduto dam is one of the most important hydraulic junctions in Lombardy: from here part of the waters of the Ticino river are diverted to form the Villoresi canal, used for irrigation, and the Industrial canal. It is located within the municipal territory of Somma Lombardo, in the province of Varese, and is included in the territory of the Lombardy Natural Park of the Ticino Valley.
