Caution!!! This section is VERY challenging and very exposed in many places... I STRONGLY advise against cycling along it. In many places, it's impossible... It's best to have two people to help each other carry the bikes.

Monte Sacco is a notable peak near Tredozio in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It is a popular destination for hiking and outdoor activities. The trail to Monte Sacco offers beautiful views and a mix of challenging and accessible routes. One of the highlights is reaching the summit, where you will find a large stone cross.

Very close to the convenient parking for a barbecue

The bivouac is a beautiful place to stop to regain strength before finishing the route, completely immersed in nature. But know that dormice are the masters, that is their home! So unless you are happy to know them and share every single space with them (even what you thought was yours), I recommend spending only daylight hours there.

On the top of Monte Sacco there is this cross. The small clearing is about 10 minutes on foot from the parking of the Monte Busca pass.

Beautiful place surrounded by nature where silence and peace reign

The bivouac, recently renovated by the Unione Montana Comuni Mugello, was once used as a shelter for shepherds and their animals. Next to the structure there is in fact an old beech that guaranteed the animals the "noon" (the shade) during the summer period .... (Source: Signs present on the site)
