탕거뮌데 성벽은 탕거뮌데 시의 중요한 역사적 건축물로, 대부분 중세 시대에 지어졌습니다. 13세기와 14세기에 건설되었으며 번영했던 한자 동맹 도시를 공격자로부터 보호하는 역할을 했습니다. 벽돌로 된 성벽의 많은 부분이 오늘날까지 보존되어 있어 한때의 요새 시설에 대한 좋은 인상을 줍니다. 성벽에는 원래 여러 개의 탑과 문이 있었는데, 그중 일부(유명한 노이슈테터 토어 등)는 아직도 존재합니다. 이 구조물의 특징은 북부 독일의 벽돌 고딕 양식으로, 도시 경관을 강하게 형성합니다. 오늘날 탕거뮌데 성벽은 방문객들에게 인기 있는 장소이자 작센안할트 주의 중세 도시 건축의 중요한 증거입니다.

The rectangular tower was built around 1300. The round tower and central section were built around 1450 and flank a pointed-arch passageway. The round tower features a projecting battlement. The more elaborate design of the round tower, the central section, and the top of the rectangular structure corresponds to the construction period around 1450 and was probably initiated by Stephan Buxtehude, to whom the Uenglinger Gate in Stendal and the Elbe Gate in Werben are attributed. The round tower is decorated with glazed bricks arranged in spiral or zigzag patterns, a molded stone frieze depicting the head of Medusa, and varied blind decorations. St. Stephen's Church in Tangermünde is a Protestant church built in the North German Brick Gothic style. This building is considered one of the most outstanding monuments of this architectural style in Europe.
