Magliano Vetere is a stone village nestled in the heart of Cilento, overlooking the Alento Valley and surrounded by chestnut and oak forests. Its quiet streets lead to the Paleontological Museum, which recounts the geological history of the area with fossil finds and ancient evidence of Cilento's fauna. From the village, sweeping views open up over the Calore Gorges and the ridges rising toward Magliano Nuovo.

I was fortunate enough to meet Francesco from the Pro Loco tourist office (find the number outside the church, or ask in town), who guided us for about an hour to discover this sacred cave. An unexpected and truly worthwhile experience with several surprises, absolutely worth it.

Place to visit absolutely, very suggestive place.

This terrace is unique in its kind, in reality it is a real panoramic route that starts from the flight of the Angel and ends in the lovers' belvedere. It is worth going all the way and choosing the most suitable bench to enjoy the landscape.

The Grotta del Bussento is the place where the high-altitude waters that cross the sinker of Villanova resurface.

The village of Caselle in Pittari deserves a detour from the Via Silente route for a visit to its typical stone houses.
