Schellerten(힐데스하임 지역)에 있는 Holzadler 조각상은 다소 매력적이지만 약간 특이한 역사를 지닌 눈에 띄는 지역 랜드마크입니다. 이 조각상은 작업장에서 만들어진 것이 아니라 현장에서 직접 만들어졌습니다. 원래 눈에 띄는 교차로(B1 / Bauernstraße)에는 낡고 썩은 포플러 나무가 있었습니다. 나무를 완전히 베어 뿌리를 뽑는 대신 창의적인 해결책을 선택했습니다. 지역 예술가(종종 전기톱 조각가 Jörg Sobeck이 이 지역에서 그러한 작품과 관련되어 있음)는 남은 나무 그루터기를 인상적인 독수리로 변모시켰습니다.

This beautiful church was the destination of my pilgrimage day on the Brunswick Way of St. James through Hildesheim. St. Martin's Church is also a pilgrimage church. My breath caught in my throat when I entered the dark church shortly after Christmas. Soft music played, the only light coming from the nativity scene and the Christmas trees. A blissful atmosphere that brings peace and emotion.

Derneburg Castle Art Museum presents exhibitions of contemporary art for a broad audience in a unique historical setting. The history of the castle near Hanover goes back almost a thousand years. For centuries it served as a nunnery and later as a monk's monastery. In the 19th century it became the property of the Dukes of Münster, who commissioned the renowned Hanoverian architect to convert it into a country estate. The artist Georg Baselitz acquired the property in 1970 and used it as a home and studio for almost thirty years until its sale in 2006. Since then, the castle and the neighboring estate have been reunited and extensively renovated. Today it is one of the largest privately owned museums in Europe open to the public, focusing on contemporary art.

The creation of the eagle is a story worth knowing... the owners are very helpful people, especially for disadvantaged older people. It was a moving encounter.
