The lakeside promenade in Weesen is a wonderful place to stroll along the lake or relax on one of the benches, allowing your gaze to wander. Depending on the season, an ice cream or hot chestnuts can sweeten your stay at the beautiful harbor.

I was very impressed by the water levels in the 19th century; back then there were no dams to hold back the water from the mountains.

Federihütte is a cozy cabin located at 1,375 meters above sea level near Schänis in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. It offers panoramic views of Lake Zurich, the surrounding area and the Glarus Alps. The cabin is an ideal starting point for hikes to the Federispitz (1,865 m), known for its beautiful views of the region. The trail to the Federihütte is considered challenging and takes about 5 hours to complete. The property is managed by the Federiclub Schänis, which warmly welcomes guests during the hiking season, generally from May to October. During your stay, please respect the natural environment, use limited resources such as water and electricity sparingly, and keep dogs on a leash and avoid access to sleeping areas. The Federihütte is an ideal destination for mountain lovers looking for tranquility and breathtaking scenery.
