Nestled between the Sulcis hills and the coastal marshes of the Gulf of Palmas, Masainas is a small agricultural town known for its cultivation of Carignano grapes and artichokes, celebrated each year with a dedicated festival. The town, built around the church of San Giovanni Battista and surrounded by hills, vineyards, and fertile countryside, offers a variety of options for both dining and lodging.

A tiny hamlet of Narcao, it has barely 400 inhabitants. The Punic temple of Terraseo is noteworthy. This rural temple is located along a dirt road a few hundred meters after the village cemetery (Bagoi, on the map).

Only one working tap, but the water is still drinkable.

The old village of Tratalias, built around the Romanesque church of S. Maria di Monserrato, was abandoned in 1971. With the construction of the dam on the Rio Palmas, and the resulting artificial lake of Monte Pranu, in the old Tratalias began to experience phenomena of infiltration, landslides, damage to buildings... Over 300 buildings were rebuilt on a nearby hill, considered safer from these phenomena, and the entire village was moved. The old village of Tratalias is still well cared for and maintained today, from the church to the various alleys, and also has some small commercial activities within it.
