We visited the small village on Sunday. There was a market with many local delicacies, including homemade gnocchi in all kinds of variations, and it was interesting to watch them being made. There were also freshly baked pastries and bombolone (vanilla doughnuts) made on site. It was a very nice trip away from the tourist crowd.

Right next to the town hall square of Montescudo there is a small park with a fountain and a breathtaking panoramic terrace.

Gemmano is a village perched on a hill overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The very small historic center still retains its medieval layout. It was an important center during the Second World War, as an outpost on the Gothic Line.

From this panoramic point you can observe the hills that slowly slope towards the sea. The color combination of the green of the trees, the cultivated fields and the blue of the sea is very suggestive.

Montescudo: the oldest name of Montescudo is Rio Alto perhaps because the Conca and Marano flow at its feet; it later became Mons Scutulus, Montescudolo, Montescutello and finally Montescudo.

The historic center of Montescudo is easily recognizable from any direction you arrive, being characterized by the high civic tower, dating back to 1300, which had a lookout function. Below the tower, inside the stone base, there is an underground walkway that led safely to the fortress. From this height it is also possible to enjoy the fantastic panorama around.

Fairs and markets were held here until the town hall with clock tower and central spiral balcony was built and the gardens were created. In the center a fountain from 1901 with Mercury and lion masks.

One of the few points in the town to supply water.
