Spadafora Castle, or Samonà Castle, is an imposing fortification built in the late 16th century around a medieval tower. It served as a noble residence, but also as a base for coastal control. Today, it belongs to the Sicilian Region and is open to visitors.

Taking the downhill crossroads you go towards the beach of La Croce a Mare, so called because of a curious little Madonna who watches over the sea from the rocks.

The mighty natural fortress, from which the Greek city took its name, had already seen the flourishing of the Neolithic, Bronze and Iron civilizations, and continued to be a fortress under the Greeks, Romans and Byzantines.

Good vantage point to see the city

The Milazzo road axis is a secondary suburban road with separate carriageways with two lanes in each direction that connects the Milazzo-Isole Eolie motorway junction on the A20 motorway with the urban center of Milazzo. In the local signs it is indicated as the road axis or connecting road axis.

This is the final stretch of the Ponente seafront. It is the Tono bay, «'Ngònia» for the Milazzesi, who therefore still prefer to use the ancient Greek term ("corner") to indicate precisely this enchanting and wonderful corner of the city, where the beach, straight for kilometers, curves all of a sudden, bending with the rocky ridge and the cliffs in a wonderful breathtaking view, embellished by the blue and fishy sea of the Tono, already home to one of the largest tuna traps in Milazzo.
