Next to the Rifugio del Sole there is this plateau, partly covered by rock formations that shelter from the wind, where you can set up a tent and light a small fire if the conditions are right. This, given that at the Rifugio del Sole you cannot bivouac as it is private property.

Is the refuge open to hikers?

Portella d'Addrichi is a Sicilian mountain pass, with an altitude of 1088 meters. In an area rich in biodiversity and natural beauty, from here you can access various hiking trails, including the one that leads to the Catafurco Waterfalls.

The Catafurco waterfall path starts from Galini, a hamlet in the municipality of Galati Mamertino. It is a dirt road of about 4 km that passes through Borgo Molisa and follows the course of the San Basilio torrent until it reaches the imposing waterfalls.

The Rifugio del Sole is a small and ancient shepherd's cottage built in stone located in the Nebrodi park. It is immersed in an alpine landscape and from here you can admire the panorama that ranges from the Nebrodi peaks to the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Aeolian Islands.

Very beautiful waterfalls, the path there is a bit monotonous and there is no shade!

The Rocche del Crasto are a particular type of rocks belonging to the Mesozoic era, really beautiful to look at!
