The Castle of Cassano d'Adda stands in a place of strategic importance for the control of the Adda pass, a natural bulwark that guaranteed the defense and control of the transit of goods. Located at the highest point of the bastion, where the river describes a wide bend towards the east, lapped by the waters of the Muzza canal, derived from the river in 1220. Reworked between the 16th and 17th centuries, the structure of the castle is still preserved today in very good condition.

The Visconti castle of Cassano d'Adda is a medieval fortress with over 900 years of history behind it. The fortress was built in the 13th century, on the orders of Ottone Visconti, archbishop of Milan at the time. Over the following centuries, the castle took on different roles from time to time: prison, private residence of the Visconti family, court, military outpost. The structure of the castle – which is now a hotel – is still preserved in excellent condition today.

The Alessandro Taccani hydroelectric power plant is a work of architectural art located in Trezzo sull'Adda, along the right bank of the Adda river. Founded by industrialist Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, the plant has been generating clean and sustainable energy for over a century. Every year, it produces around 60 million kilowatt hours, equivalent to the average annual consumption of 24 thousand families. Behind her, the medieval castle of Trezzo, with its 42 meter high square tower towering above it.
