Also known as Montelepre Castle, it is the small town's main monument. Built in the 15th century by order of the Archbishop of Monreale, Giovanni Ventimiglia, to defend the fiefdom of Munkilebi.

Starting just outside the town of San Giuseppe Jato, this stretch of provincial road 20 climbs up to the picturesque Portella della Paglia pass, in a succession of hairpin bends and breathtaking views. Having reunited with them, after a complicated search, they decided to settle on the mainland, on the site of today's town, which they named "Cca paci" (Peace), in the name of the family's newfound peace.

In the middle of nowhere, the giant's tomb owes its name to the fact that popular tradition believed it to be the tomb of a giant or a Saracen warrior of noble origins. Looking at it, there do not seem to be any particular clues, but it is certainly a monument that gets noticed. Some scholars, trying to understand its use, have hypothesized that it was the tomb of a Roman patrician. The most accredited opinion is that it is a cetotaph, that is, a funerary monument in memory of a character who was buried elsewhere.
