A beautiful, characteristic village. If you're in the area, I recommend a visit.

Very pleasant. There are hairpin bends alternating with fairly fast sections. Nice surface.

The small sacred monument we encounter on Monte Gottero is perhaps the perfect place for a brief moment of reflection. A few years ago, Christiane Völkel commented on the wonderfully fitting sentence by the Italian poet Francesco Petrarch (who lived in the 14th century), "Everywhere one has heaven above oneself," as follows: "What is the use of prayer? This question moves me (...) I have found for myself the answer and the certainty that when I pray I am with the Lord, or rather, that when I pray he is often noticeably closer to me than usual. Thus, I retain the possibility of pouring out my heart to him (...) This intimacy with him makes me believe in him."

Pontremoli - shaking bridge - is the northernmost town in all of Tuscany and one of the most distinctive centers of Lunigiana. Built on a plain surrounded by hills and mountains, the city is a small jewel of artistic and monumental heritage. It is recognized by historians as the mythical Apua, the ancient capital of the Ligurian-Apuanian civilization. By crossing the medieval bridges and walking along the streets, you will find yourself in a mythical era. It is also a stop on the Via Francigena, the pilgrimage route that connects Canterbury in England with Rome.
