Narrow little stone bridge in the old town center

The parish church in Domaso was built in the 13th century in Romanesque style, but was completely rebuilt in the late Baroque and 18th centuries in the contemporary style. The interior contains numerous works of art, including a bas-relief depicting the "Pietà" attributed to the Rodari brothers, an altar triptych with the "Madonna and Child between Saints Peter and Paul" by the painter Giulio Cesare Procaccini of Bologna, and the frescoes in the chapel, commissioned by the Spanish governor Luigi Panizza, who was buried here in 1639, depicting the "Life of the Virgin" and the "Mysteries of the Rosary" by D. Caresana. Also in the Panizza Chapel, above the altar, is a late Gothic fresco of the "Madonna of the Lilies and Child," which is an object of great devotion to the inhabitants of Domaso. Also of great importance and prestige are the 17th-century frescoes by P. Ligari, a cross on a silver, gilded pole by the Como goldsmith G.P. Lierni (1533), and a venerated medieval wooden cross. Outside the church is the 17th-century Chapel of the Good Friday, which is decorated inside with a painting of the "Descent from the Cross."
