While the view from the Rusteberg is otherwise quite limited, there is a forest gap on the western slope that allows a view to the west. Two benches invite you to linger longer!

The path is well signposted; on the slope from the Heidkopf down to Rustenfelde, however, most of the spruce trees have been felled, and here the pilgrim can also see all the problems of spruce death!

The Stationsweg dates back to 1881. The 1300 m long Way of the Cross meanders from Burgwalde uphill to the Bonifatius chapel. The "Georgsklüschen" below the cemetery marks the beginning of the station path.

The current church was first mentioned in 1732. The high altar dates from the 18th century. The organ created in 1910/1911 was built by Louis Krell and son from Duderstadt.
