Beautiful, beautiful pass. Rugged and wild, as befits these places. The descent to the Gia refuge should be approached with caution: it's really steep, the scree is very loose, and for long stretches it's loose. You need a sure footing and experience with these conditions. Experts only.

This CAI trail is officially decommissioned. Some trail markers remain, although, especially in the second section, due to shifting scree, they aren't always where they should be. Not recommended for beginners; experts should proceed slowly and at their own risk.
