Redipuglia is the largest Italian military shrine. It stands on the western slope of Monte Sei Busi which during the 1st World War was bitterly contested because, although not very high, it allowed from its summit to dominate for a wide range of access from the west to the first steps of the Karst Tableland. It was inaugurated in 1938 after 10 years of work and houses the bodies of 100,000 fallen from the Great War.
