The Schreckbichl Winery, founded in 1960, is one of South Tyrol's younger wine cooperatives. It was founded by 26 winegrowers seeking greater independence and named the winery after their hometown of Schreckbichl (Colterenzio). These winegrowers were pioneers who immediately focused on high quality. Today, 300 winegrowers continue this path, cultivating 300 hectares of vineyards in one of South Tyrol's best wine-growing regions. 14 different grape varieties are cultivated, with red wines accounting for 35 percent of production and white wines the rest. The winery places great emphasis on sustainability, both in the vineyard through environmentally friendly cultivation and hand-picked grapes, and in the winery, which is largely powered by green electricity. In addition, a significant portion of the energy needs are covered by photovoltaic systems, solar panels, and a heat recovery system. The newly renovated winery features an elegant tasting room and a wine shop. Opening hours: vary by season. Guided tours: available upon request at info@colterenzio.it. 3월 24, 2025, Manincor
Manincor combines historic charm with a deep commitment to biodynamic winemaking. With 50 hectares of vineyards, the winery in Kaltern is one of the largest and most traditional in South Tyrol, with over 400 years of history. Since 2005, Count Michael Goëss-Enzenberg has pursued a biodynamic cultivation approach based on soil revitalization, greening measures, and animal husbandry. The vines are treated with herbal teas to strengthen them and provide support during stress. In the modern winery built within the vineyard, grapes from half a million vines are processed. This is where authentic, sensual wines are produced, crafted with passion and craftsmanship. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guided tours: available upon request here https://www.manincor.com/en. You can find more information at https://www.altoadigewines.com/en/winegrowers/manincor/86-197488.html.

Since 2016, the Kaltern Winery has united 590 members under its umbrella, cultivating a total of 440 hectares of vineyards. The cooperative sees itself as a "big family" that holds together small, intimate winegrowing structures and offers its members the opportunity to share in a shared success. Coordination among members, ranging from vine care to training and continuing education, is a central component of its work. The winery sets high standards for its quality policy and monitors the yields of approximately 2,000 plots to create optimal conditions for the wines. Five main varieties are cultivated: Schiava (particularly from Kaltern), Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Muscat Gold (for the sweet Passito). Sustainability is a central principle, implemented both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The Kaltern Winery was the first wine producer in Italy and the first cooperative to be awarded the FAIR 'N GREEN sustainability certificate. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays and public holidays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guided tours: From Easter to the end of September, every Wednesday at 5 p.m. and every Friday at 10 a.m., and upon request. The St. Michael-Eppan Winery, founded in 1907, is today one of the most renowned wineries in South Tyrol and Italy. With 320 members who cultivate their vineyards in harmony with nature, the cooperative pursues the secret of its success through a combination of decades of experience and the constant pursuit of perfection. The terroir, respectful handling of the grapes, and careful processing guarantee unique, characterful wines. The vineyards in and around Eppan, in particular, offer ideal conditions for varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Muscat Gold, and Pinot Noir. The mild, sunny climate at the lower elevations along the Wine Route is ideal for structured red wines. The winery's wines are characterized by finesse, elegance, depth, and longevity. This applies to both the larger production, such as the "Sanct Valentin" line, and top-quality wines such as APPIUS and "The Wine Collection," with which the winery has earned a worldwide reputation and won awards. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tours: Upon request at https://visit.stmichael.it/en/668550d1b9ccd149d00cf393?lang=en. 3월 24, 2025, Kellerei Bozen
A striking cube-shaped winery that combines modern design with deep-rooted tradition. The Bozen Winery, founded in 2001 through the merger of the older Bolzano wineries Gries and St. Magdalena, is known for its impressive diversity. With 224 members and 350 hectares of vineyards in various regions such as Gries, St. Moritz, and St. Magdalena, a variety of grape varieties are cultivated at different altitudes: Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer dominate the higher elevations, Vernatsch is found in the middle elevations, while Cabernet and Merlot thrive further down, and Lagrein thrives in the valleys. The winery places great emphasis on tradition, sustainable, and natural cultivation, especially in the often steep vineyards. It relies on careful cultivation of the soils and vines and pursues an environmentally conscious concept. The Bozen Winery is the first winery in Italy to be awarded the "KlimaHaus Wein" seal for energy efficiency and sustainability. The grapes are processed using the gravity-fed method, resulting in particularly gentle and high-quality wines. The results are distinctive, high-quality wines that impress with both their diversity and their sustainability. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tours: Every Tuesday and Friday at 3:00 p.m. For tours in English, please contact +39 0471 270909 or info@kellereibozen.com. Registration required. More information can be found at https://www.altoadigewines.com/en/winegrowers/cantina-bozen/86-197462.html.

3월 22, 2025, Elena Walch
Elena Walch, originally an architect, joined the Walch winemaking family in Tramin and dedicated herself to viticulture. With her commitment and self-confidence, she consistently implemented her vision of sustainability in the winery and developed her terroir wines. Although she came from a non-wine-related background, she quickly became a pioneer of a new wine philosophy that was still unusual at the time. Her guiding principle was an uncompromising focus on quality. The terroir wines from the single vineyards of Castel Ringberg in Kaltern and Kastelaz in Tramin are internationally highly regarded and have received numerous awards. Both vineyards have been included in the exclusive VIGNA list, which guarantees their origin from single vineyards. Elena Walch placed particular emphasis on sustainable vineyard management, which is becoming increasingly recognized in the industry. Visit the Bistrot Le Verre Capricieux Elena Walch Tramin with a view of Lake Kaltern. In 1907, Josef Hofstätter founded a winery in Tramin, which is now the largest family-run winery in South Tyrol. Under the management of Martin Foradori, the winery operates on over 50 hectares in various regions of South Tyrol, Trentino, and even Saarland in Germany. The winery's philosophy is based on the idea that the wines should reflect the character of each site, which is underscored by the site-specific concept, which Hofstätter pioneered in South Tyrol. The winery relies on sustainable cultivation methods, with a focus on gentle pruning and minimal intervention. It focuses on local grape varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Lagrein, Schiava, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Noir. Seven wines bear the "Vigna" designation of origin, comparable to the French "Grand Cru." Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and in winter, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. In summer, until 6 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours: Available upon request at https://www.hofstatter.com/en/experience/tastings-tours/ More information is available at https://www.altoadigewines.com/en/winegrowers/tenuta-j-hofstaetter/86-197574.html.

The Tramin Winery is comprised of 300 winegrowers who form a cooperative. The winery's striking architecture, inspired by the structure of the vine, is a distinctive feature, blending beautifully into the landscape. Tramin's vineyards extend at altitudes between 250 and 850 meters, offering a diverse range of locations, soils, and microclimates. Work in the vineyard follows strict guidelines, with the precise timing of the harvest being crucial for the high quality and distinctive aromas of the wines. The large temperature differences between day and night favor the fruitiness of the grapes. During the day, the warm wind from Lake Garda ensures dryness, preventing rot, and at night, temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celsius. This combination of natural conditions and the meticulous work of the co-owners is the recipe for success of the Tramin Winery, whose most famous wine, the Gewürztraminer, is considered an "Epokale" – the first white wine from Italy to be awarded 100 points. Opening hours: From April to October, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. From November to March, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guided tours: Available upon request at https://visit.cantinatramin.it/en/607e8bd8eb834e1c60398831?lang=en More information can be found at https://www.suedtirolwein.com/de/winzer/kellerei-tramin/86-197472.html.
