Along a beautiful dirt road in search of a traffic-free route to reach San Martino

The connection between two major rivers, the Adige and the Mincio, creates one of the longest cycling routes in Italy. From Lake Garda, from Peschiera sul Mincio, you can travel entirely on a cycle path to the mouth of the Adige River in Rosolina Mare.

Vialone Nano Veronese PGI Rice Road The itinerary starts from Buttapietra, about 15 km south of Verona, along the provincial road that leads to Vigasio, immediately meeting Villa Giuliari in Settimo di Gallese. Built in the 17th century based on a design by the architect Alessandro Pompei, in the following century it took on today's neoclassical appearance. With a short detour you can reach, isolated in the countryside on the Alpone municipal road, the Corte Zera Bampa which dates back to the end of the seventeenth century, with the oratory dedicated to San Giovanni Battista. Approaching Vigasio you find La Zambonina. An architectural complex with a sixteenth-century layout with an Italian garden, whose current forms can be traced back to the Baroque style, a rare example in the Veronese plain. Of particular interest are the frescoes in the loggia which show work in the rice fields, the cultivation of which was already widespread in the seventeenth century.
