Freddie Mercury Statue, Montreux “If you want peace of mind, come to Montreux,” said Freddie Mercury (1946–1991). He not only lived here but also recorded six of his albums with Queen, including “Made in Heaven.” His statue on the lakeside promenade was erected in his memory in 1996. Located in Aigle, the Center Mondial du Cyclisme UCI (CMC) is a remarkable center for cycling enthusiasts and professional cyclists. The wooden velodrome has an impressive length of 200 meters and a width of 6.65 meters. The steep slope of 46.7 degrees makes it a challenging track for cyclists. The maximum speed that can be reached here is 80 km/h. The total surface of the velodrome is 1,700 m², and its volume is 200 m³. The entire structure weighs 120,000 kg.

The Château de Chillon is located on the shores of Lake Geneva, near Montreux in Veytaux, Switzerland. This medieval and romantic castle is a precious historical jewel that has been enthroned on its rocky island for almost a millennium. The castle is located on the eastern shore of Lake Geneva, in a picturesque spot between Montreux and Veytaux. It has become famous thanks to literary works such as “La Nouvelle Héloïse” by Jean-Jacques Rousseau and “The Prisoner of Chillon” by Lord Byron. The castle dates back to the thirteenth century and is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Europe. In addition to its historical significance, the Château de Chillon also offers wonderful exhibitions, animations and events. You can also rent rooms for special occasions.
