San Marco pedestrian and cycle bridge

On April 25, 2023, the day of the Liberation and the feast of the Evangelist/Saint Mark, patron saint of Veneto, the municipal authorities of San Martino Buon Albergo and San Giovanni Lupatoto inaugurated and opened the pedestrian bridge over the Adige River that connects the two municipalities, named after the Evangelist Saint. The connection provides a link between the Pista dell Adige and the Marco Pantani path in the Pontoncello Park, a regional park of local importance, where a cycle/pedestrian path is located in honor of the cyclist Marco Pantani, much frequented by both athletes and non-athletes.

On the cycle/pedestrian path dedicated to Marco Pantani, between San Giovanni Lupatoto and Zevio, this rest area is perfect for a picnic, a bit of rest or even just to read some information on the panels here. There is also a small playground for children.

This stretch of cycle path on a compact dirt surface offers the opportunity to pedal in complete tranquility while immersing yourself in the nature of the Adige River.

The bombard house is a late 19th century building built for the accommodation of the operators and families for the management of the water channels in the area. . During WWII it was bombed and hence the name. Recently refurbished.
