I recommend stopping at Barrio Cafè (https://www.instagram.com/barriotravo/) for a sweet or savory snack.

Bearing in mind the historical period to which the image refers, it shows us how advanced the battle techniques of the Carthaginians were. They used the Elephants as real tanks ante litteram, on which operated a specialized crew. Alongside the Elephants, almost certainly, the infantry advanced (even if it is not seen here)

Known as "il Gotico" to those who live in Piacenza, due to the presence of pointed arches typical of Gothic architecture, this historic building in the city center hosted the poet Francesco Petrarca in 1351. Today it opens to the public only on the occasion of events or temporary exhibitions.

Located between the village of Rivalta Trebbia and the river of the same name, the castle of Rivalta was, in the past, one of the most important military bastions of western Emilia. The first certain news about the castle of Rivalta dates back to no earlier than the 11th century and it can still be visited, booking in advance on this site: https://www.castellodirivalta.it/castello-visite-guidate.

8월 26, 2024, Palazzo Gotico (Piacenza)
The main square of Piacenza with a beautiful Gothic palace. It takes its name from two equestrian statues of two members of the Farnese family, which for a long time dominated the city. The square is also overlooked by much less beautiful buildings, which quite seriously disrupt the view. However, a must-see for anyone visiting Piacenza.

Rivalta Castle is one of the very few European examples of manors surrounded by an ancient village that has largely remained intact today. Mentioned in documents as early as 1048, it is a sumptuous noble residence, surrounded by a magnificent park. The castle shows a quadrangular planimetric development and is characterized by a singular fifteenth-century cylindrical tower, which ends with the unmistakable small tower

4월 8, 2024, Palazzo Gotico (Piacenza)
This square used to be the political and commercial center of Piacenza. It owes its name (Piazza Cavelli) to two masterpieces by Francesko mochi, the Baroque equestrian statues** of Alexander and Ranuccio I Farnese. The gigantic structure that towers above the square is the Gotico**. To the left of the square rises the facade of the 13th century Chiesa di san Francesco, an interesting example of Gothic Franciscan architecture.

The square was built in the 13th century and is the most important political-economic center of the city. The enormous mass of the Palazzo Pubblico, traditionally called Gothic, dominates it. Opposite the Gothic palace is the Governor's Palace, built in 1787 to a design by the talented Piacenza architect Lotario Tomba. On the sides of the square, which was repaved in the last decade of the eighteenth century, are two bronze equestrian statues of the Dukes of Farnese, commissioned by the community of Piacenza to Francesco Mochi di Montevarchi.
