This slender and imposing complex stands out among the cultivated fields of the plain between Bologna and Ferrara which, next to the classic bell tower, flanks a majestic German neo-Gothic style church with a 44 meter high dome. The church was built starting in 1894 based on a design by the engineer. Francesco Gualandi of Bologna in collaboration with his son Giuseppe and completed in 1933. The Gothic-floral style is certainly not common for the area and for the time of construction, however it certainly makes it a source of architectural interest. ... The protected natural area of the Ex Risaia di Bentivoglio, also known by the name of Oasi La Rizza, is located in the northern part of the municipal territory and located in that part of the plain affected, in the recent past, by the cultivation of rice: the area of the former rice fields. The Giovannina castle (or villa) is located on the border between the municipalities of Cento and San Giovanni in Persiceto. It owes its name to the rich benefactor who wanted its construction and today ceremonies, weddings and conferences are held there. Inside, there are numerous rooms frescoed at the beginning of the seventeenth century by Guercino, a painter born in Cento.

Among the lakes it is not uncommon to come across flocks of flamingos. And even when you don't meet those, the circular route and the observation huts make this Oasis an interesting place.
