The Hospital Church in Neustadt in Holstein dates back to a medieval foundation that originally served as a "hospital" – from the Latin hospitale = hostel, guesthouse, or pilgrim's house – and offered accommodation and care to the poor, the sick, and travelers. The name thus indicates its dual function as a religious site and social institution.

Like all streets on the beach, it is most beautiful in the early morning and out of season. Crowded in summer.

The St. Catherine's Church in Lensahn, a late Gothic brick church from the 15th century, impresses with its striking tower with a baroque dome. Particularly worth seeing is the richly decorated bronze baptismal font, which dates from 1641. The church also houses a historic organ, which offers a particularly attractive sound and is regularly used for concerts.

After more than 1.5 years of construction and the work of around 70 craftsmen, the new pier was finally officially opened on September 28, 2024. We like it very much. You can walk on different levels and always have a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea and the Bay of Lübeck.
