Always worth a trip, and the view is simply magnificent in good weather.

At the border between Germany and Austria near Vorarlberg, only an inconspicuous border stone or sign separates the two countries – often in the middle of meadows, forests, or across alpine pastures. With a single step, you cross into the other country, while before you unfolds a view of Lake Constance, the Rhine Valley, or the Nagelfluhkette mountain range. A quiet yet special spot offering a genuine sense of the border on your hike.

The Hörmoos herb garden is a large, lovingly landscaped garden with many wild herbs, all clearly and comprehensively labeled. During your stroll, you'll learn a great deal about the plants, their properties, and uses. In this pleasant setting, you can take your time, look around, read the information, and, depending on availability, discover suitable herbal products or spirits.

From here you have a magnificent view of the Hochgrat, a striking peak rising above the surrounding mountains. On clear days, you can easily see its long ridge and steep flanks. It's the perfect spot for a panoramic stop, a short break, and a few photos.

From this vantage point, you can enjoy an impressive view of the Nagelfluh mountain range, whose peaks rise like a jagged line above the valley. Depending on the light, the mountains appear either softly green or ruggedly alpine. It's the perfect panoramic stop for a short break, a photo, and a moment of wonder.

It's outrageous that they forbid walking with a dog on a public, marked hiking trail – just because it crosses the property. An alternative route MUST be found, for example, going around the property instead of directly past the house. Today I simply walked across the meadow – only to discover that dogs are also prohibited on the ridge trail 🙈 Unfortunately, we can't fly. There was NEVER any sign indicating that this is a dead end! I would never recommend this alpine pasture.

This hut completely blocks the hiking trail for dog owners; you can't walk past it and have to turn around. We were coming from the Kojenstein and wanted to pass this alpine pasture on our way to the Imbergbahn cable car. There's no alternative!
