Grinzane Cavour is a municipality in the Langhe area, in Piedmont. The name pays homage to Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, who was mayor of Grinzane for 17 years. In Grinzane Cavour it is possible to visit the splendid medieval castle of Grinzane, still perfectly preserved.

From the website www.castellogrinzane.com Built around the middle of the 11th century on top of a hill, the Castle of Grinzane Cavour dominates, with its beauty and unmistakable architecture, the stupendous panorama of the Langhe hills, today a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Vineyard landscapes of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. Over the centuries, the Castle has belonged to various Piedmontese noble families, including the Counts Benso di Cavour, whose best known exponent was Camillo Benso, the famous hero of the Risorgimento, who stayed at the Castle and was mayor of the small village of Grinzane. Like a real casket, the Castle will open to offer the visitor the treasures it holds, to discover the Langhe Museum, the fascinating historic rooms, the precious Cavourian Memorabilia and the Piedmontese Cavour Regional Enoteca.
