The town sits on a small rock, nestled on the right bank of the Belbo River, 555 meters above sea level. It is one of the most important hazelnut-producing centers.

In a splendid panoramic location, built of Langa stone, it is notable for the Baroque-style decoration of its brick façade. The building's design is attributed to Francesco Gallo, who worked in the Cuneo and Mondovì areas in the first half of the 18th century. The interior retains no decoration. The altar is noteworthy, the last vestige of the pre-existing building. This is evidenced by the fresco depicting the Madonna enthroned breastfeeding the Child, with Saint George, patron saint of Niella Belbo, at her side, dating to the late 15th century. The best time to travel this stretch is late autumn, to enjoy the palette of colors of the woods and crops.

The valley crosses, from the border with the Province of Savona, the southern Province of Asti and, to a lesser extent, the provinces of Cuneo and Alessandria. A small rest area with a nice granite table and bench, additional seating, and a screen playing a looping video of the beauty of the Langhe. Trees provide shade. A stunning view of the hills is in front. A lovely place for a break.

At this point on the cart track you are now near Serralunga d'Alba, a small and extremely characteristic town in the province of Cuneo. A photo of the village from here is a particularly good choice.
