Sant'Eusebio stands on the highest point between the borders of Pagno, Martiniana Po and Brondello, about 750 meters above sea level. It is perhaps the oldest of all those present in the valley. It is already mentioned in the Statutes, which are from 1508. In fact, speaking of the boundaries of the properties at n.255, we read: "incipiendo a via Sancti Euxobii" (starting from the road to S.Eusebio). When that area served as a pasture, the monks will have built that Chapel, perhaps in wood, both as a place of prayer and worship, but it could also serve as a warehouse for goods. The structure of the Chapel, as it has come down to us, is very simple and poor. A small room, without a portico. The ancient village of Saluzzo is gorgeous. Narrow cobbled streets between historic buildings lead up to Castilla, the fortress/castle that towers over the city, a bit like the Spielberg towers over Brno (ironically). A must visit.
