The Galmwald, surrounded by the communities of Gurmels, Ulmiz and Murten, forms one of the most beautiful and important contiguous forest complexes in the Seebezirk. It is unique because the forest, which is owned by the state of Fribourg, is a separate geographical municipality with no inhabitants; only the animal world lives here. In addition to the 300-year-old oaks and the sustainable use of the mixed deciduous forests, the Galmwald has a lot more to offer.
