The town sits on a small rock, nestled on the right bank of the Belbo River, 555 meters above sea level. It is one of the most important hazelnut-producing centers.

In a splendid panoramic location, built of Langa stone, it is notable for the Baroque-style decoration of its brick façade. The building's design is attributed to Francesco Gallo, who worked in the Cuneo and Mondovì areas in the first half of the 18th century. The interior retains no decoration. The altar is noteworthy, the last vestige of the pre-existing building. This is evidenced by the fresco depicting the Madonna enthroned breastfeeding the Child, with Saint George, patron saint of Niella Belbo, at her side, dating to the late 15th century. Prunetto from the Uzzone Valley

Of all the roads that go up to Prunetto, this is undoubtedly the "gentlest" in terms of slope and graduality, perhaps slightly busier than the others but manageable even for those who are not too trained.

Cairo Montenotte is located almost at the head of the Bormida Valley, the starting point for reaching Lake Osiglia, the Melogno hill and, continuing towards Savona, the Cadibona hill. It is a beautiful town with a well-preserved historic center, dominated by a castle. By bike, if you continue towards Savona, it is advisable to cross the city center, to avoid getting stuck in the tunnel of the main road.

It is a beautiful climb in the Alta Langhe region. It starts from Campetto Bosasso, on the SP592 road, taking a small paved track where there is a sign that marks the start of the climb. It is 7.7 km with an average gradient of 4.5%. These figures are misleading as the first few km of the climb are quite hard, while the final part is practically flat. It reaches its peak when it reaches the SP230 road. It is a climb that I loved, in general like all those in the area, although this one has a special point due to the curves that the road traces and the views of the surrounding valleys.
