Considered the first inhabited nucleus of the valley

Founded around the year 1000, it is the most important of Casola's churches. It is an imposing and ancient abbey founded by Benedictine monks around the year 1000. It is currently under renovation but should be open to visitors.

Beautiful road that crosses the "Parco Regionale della Vena del Gesso", the asphalt is in good condition for most of the way. Panoramic road with beautiful views on the walls of the chalky ramparts.

The Strada della Lavanda transversally crosses the Senio valley at the height of Casola Valsenio, creating a landscape contrast that varies between chalk, gullies, the green of nature, the brooms and the color spots of the lavender in bloom. This area can be defined as the Little Italian Provence precisely due to the close link with medicinal plants, among which, as we said, lavender excels.
