The entire descent from San Pellegrino passes through the thick greenery of the Garfagnana and small villages that maintain their traditional beauty.

the closing of the ring has a challenging part, with some slightly dangerous parts and others not marked, at least as far as the route that the navigator makes you do is concerned

The Vallestrina bivouac is a spartan bivouac located in the shadow of the Alp of the same name. Spartan in appearance, but not in content. Inside we can find: stove, table with chairs and bench, chopped wood, bunk bed with three seats and above all electric light provided by a photovoltaic panel. Outside: mega table and barbecue. Going up the stream, there is a source about 100 meters away. The password is always the same: RESPECT!

we are on the highest peak of the Tuscan Apennines. Easy, although quite long, from the profecchia hut.

12월 6, 2022, Monte Prado
Monte Prado, or Prato, (2054m a.s.l.) is located on the major watershed of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, halfway between Passo Pradarena and Passo Radici. This area has been included in the Parco dell'Alto Appennino Reggíano (Parco del Gigante) since 1988, due to its high naturalistic value. The local climate is poorly documented. The average annual temperature is around 5'C and the average rainfall is around 200Omrn. Precipitation is mostly snow and occurs between November and April, while the snow melts from May until the beginning of summer, depending on the differences in topography and exposure. 11월 23, 2022, Monte Cusna Summit
Beautiful peak with a 360° view of the surrounding valleys. Reachable by multiple routes. Always quite busy. The simplest is the one that climbs from the Monte Orsaro refuge. The winter ascent is also very beautiful due to the little man-made environment. If you want a tougher climb, take the very direct route from the Zamboni refuge.

7월 14, 2022, Monte Cusna Summit
Monte Cusna is the highest peak in the Reggiano Apennines and the second highest in the Northern Apennines. In the presence of favorable conditions, its 2,120 meters of altitude allow you to enjoy a splendid panorama that extends to the Alps.

7월 14, 2022, Il Passone
A panoramic point at 1,857 meters above sea level, the Passone is located in the immediate vicinity of the Battisti Refuge and is an important crossroads of trails that lead to Monte Cusna, Alpe di Vallestrina and Passo di Lama Lite. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Dolo and Ozola valleys. On the opposite side, towards the border of the region, stands Monte Prado, the highest peak in Tuscany with its 2,054 meters of altitude.

Segment for BDC. 12.7km - 1100m d + Among the many alternatives to reach San Pellegrino in Alpe, this is undoubtedly the hardest. Not for nothing was it included in 3 laps of Italy: in '89, in '95 and in 2000. The maximum gradient reaches 18%.

11월 18, 2021, Monte Cusna Summit
The Naso del Gigante is the highest point in the Reggio Apennines. Reachable from numerous starting points, the summit is truly panoramic and very popular! I recommend the winter ascent from the Monte Orsaro refuge with ice ax and crampons (or ski mountaineering if you are experienced): if the day is clear, the show is guaranteed.
