Water fountain

This beautiful panoramic point is located just outside Cittareale at the entrance to the path to Monte Caciaro. It can be reached with an easy walk, following part of the Cammino dei Parchi (CNP) route which starts from Rocca Manfredi.

Beautiful stretch of dirt road that connects Accumoli to Forca Canapine. The view of the Laga mountains from here is spectacular. The path can be reached with a pleasant walk on the plain from Forca Canapine starting from the Genziana refuge (disused) or with a more challenging climb from Accumoli.

Cittareale is a small, anonymous-looking village which however hides an incredible history. Here, in fact, Titus Flavius Vespasian, Roman emperor, was born. Roberto d'Angiò and Manfredi di Svevia also passed through it, leaving a legacy of the beautiful castle, which can still be visited today, located close to the town.

The small village of Accumoli was, unfortunately, destroyed by the 2016 earthquake which had its epicenter here. There is still a bar in the village and, a short distance from the village, there are a couple of farmhouses offering accommodation and delicious meals. From here you can set off on pleasant excursions both towards the Laga mountains and the Sibillini mountains.
