The bivouac must be taken care of: don't leave practically useless objects behind with the excuse of leaving them for someone else to come. A gas canister with enough gas for perhaps one cigarette is best taken back down the valley. I threw away the cards last time and replaced them with new ones. The bivouac should be left "slightly" better than it was when you found it.

The La Vecchia refuge is a bivouac located on the Mandra Murata hill at an altitude of 1830 metres, along the crest of Monte Sirente. With a panoramic view of the Gran Sasso and the Rocche plateau, it is always open and offers an excellent possibility for hikers to sleep.

Pagliare di Tione is an open-air museum: the medieval agro-pastoral settlement is made up of a hundred two-story stone farmhouses. The upper floor was reserved for shepherds and other inhabitants, the lower floor was made up of haystacks (hence the name of the village) which served as a shelter for the animals.

Lovely gorge! We were here at oktober with dry water. There wasn't any water in the river but we had a lovely walk for two hours
