In 1995, the citizens of Emmendingen donated this fountain as a symbol of community: several stylized hands grasp a central staff together – only together can they hold it steady. Children especially love the small snail sculptures around the fountain's edge, which serve as seats.

The Margrave's Castle is a Renaissance building with a fascinating heritage. Acquired in 1588 by Margrave Jakob III, it became the site of the Emmendingen Religious Colloquy and later the official residence of the bailiffs. Today, it is a cultural center: concerts and cabaret performances take place in the castle cellar, while the city history exhibition and the Hirsmüller Photography Museum bring history and tradition to life. Located just steps from the old town, the castle seamlessly blends historical architecture with modern culture.
