Francis of Assisi

Ancient Benedictine abbey inhabited later and still today home to the Capuchin Friars Minor. You can visit the church with altar and wooden statue of St. Matthew the Apostle where you can admire the wonderful wooden "Choir". Also noteworthy is the Franciscan "BiblioLab".

Located on the ancient Via Francigena, it is a notable piece of architecture from the 1500s.

The era of the foundation of this fortress is uncertain; it is thought to be even prior to the construction of Apricena, therefore the second half of the 9th century. Already flourishing in the 11th century under the lordship of the Norman Count Enrico, it then passed from Rainulfo Drengot, duke of Aversa, to Ruggero, lord of Rignano, following a long and bitter war.

Located on a spur of the Gargano at an altitude of 545 metres, south-west of the Gargano promontory in the municipality of Apricena, the castle, of which few ruins remain, was part of a village whose origin is uncertain.

The sanctuary is located near San Marco in Lamis. It is built in the Romanesque style and dates back. It is located on the Via Micaelica, a branch of the Via Francigena for pilgrims heading to Monte Sant'Angelo.

Also known as the "convent of San Giovanni in Lamis" it stands at the foot of Mount Celano (871 m). The sanctuary was probably founded by the Lombards and is today the destination of numerous pilgrimages.
