From here, turning around, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Santeramo in Colle. The landscape is undulating and hilly, characteristic of the Murge. The town emerges as a clear, compact patch, dominated by church bell towers. The view extends across an agricultural landscape of alternating olive groves, vineyards, and cultivated fields, punctuated by dry stone walls, historic farmhouses, and stretches of woodland.

Matera is an Italian city in the Basilicata region, the capital of the province of the same name. It lies on the edge of the Murgia plateau. Its surroundings are home to the most important caveman settlements in the Mediterranean region. Since 1993, the "Sassi di Matera" (Stones of Matera), the oldest part of the city, have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In 1672 , in the same area, a convent for minor friars and the church were built in the neoclassical Style with the donation by the Marquis Caracciolo . On May 1, 1931, the parish of the Santissimo Crocifisso was erected by decree of the Archbishop of Bari and Canosa Augusto Curi . On February 25, 2014, Archbishop Giovanni Ricchiuti consecrated the new altar of this church following the restoration desired and carried out thanks to the commitment of the current parish priest Mirko Korenkiewicz.
