Another hiker's hut, not a beer garden for motorists, with home-style food of very good quality, beer from the trough, no running diesel generator, and a great couple who run the hut.

Unfortunately, the complex is falling into disrepair. The wooden walkway, which is supposed to represent the outline of a church, is partially rotten and is therefore closed for good reason. If you are in the area, you can take a look, but overall the complex is no longer worth a visit.

The Unterauerlinger Hut is open from mid-May to the first Sunday in October and offers a selection of drinks and homemade specialties that vary depending on what is on offer each day. Hikers can pay to get chilled drinks from the fountain in front of the hut at any time. It is also possible to stay overnight if the weather changes or by prior arrangement.
