Small but rarely visited lake, an oasis of peace.

One of the less touristy lakes of the Sila and therefore one of the quietest.

Taverna is a splendid town which was the birthplace of the famous seventeenth-century painter Mattia Preti, whose numerous works it houses in the churches and the civic museum. Absolutely unmissable.

Lake Passante is an artificial lake formed by a dam built in the 70s. It is part of the Sila Natural Park. Until a few years ago it housed numerous fish species, now somewhat disappeared following the emptying of the dam in 2011

This is Taverna, a small Italian town in the province of Catanzaro in Calabria. The village is located on the slopes of the mountains that make up the Sila Park. If you are crossing the Calabria Region along its "Parchi Calabria" cycle route I recommend a short stop here. A charging station for electric bicycles has been positioned in the center of the village, here you will also find some tools for maintaining your bike.

Taverna is a small place with beautiful, well-preserved buildings. In the village you will find a small museum and of course a café on the church square. Here you get that real holiday feeling and leave the hectic pace behind you. Around the place, roads meander up and down the mountains and allow you breathtaking views.
