During the summer months, a group of horseshoe bats live in the keep; you can see them easily if you open the door to the viewing terrace slowly, as they hang close to it and don't flutter away straight away.

The castle is idyllically situated on the cycle paths and is perfectly embedded in the landscape.

A very impressive ruin that has been well preserved or renovated to the extent that it is safe to enter. Great location right on the Dobra reservoir with great views from the keep.

“A giant once carried a stone down from the mountain. As he was wading through the Kamp River, the heavy stone fell into the water. Despite his best efforts, the giant was no longer able to lift the stone out. Since then the rock has been in the camp.”

Around 1780 a house was built here at our own expense, as well as a garden with several beehives. Other beekeepers followed this example and built two more houses. In 1960, as part of the dam projects, the buildings were abandoned.

From here you have a great view up and down the Kamptal. The historic town center fits wonderfully into the Kampbiege.

From the village of Krug in just 15 minutes. Just don't forget the key to the castle keep in Krug Hr. 29 (next to the parking lot) to take with you.
