From the salt marshes of Hyères, a perfectly surfaced cycle path leads to the Gien peninsula. A beautiful ride alternating between salt marshes, beaches and other coastal landscapes.

On the Giens peninsula in Hyères, the Musée du Niel is dedicated to artistic expressions of the second half of the 20th century, particularly non-figuration and abstraction in post-war France.

The port of La Tour Fondue, located at the end of the Giens peninsula, is a picturesque place offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean and the Hyères islands. This small port, both authentic and peaceful, is surrounded by rocky coves and fine sandy beaches. The crystal clear waters that surround it invite you to swim.

After that the terrain becomes more difficult

Almanarre Beach is a famous water sports spot. The coastal cycle path runs along the Almanarre road and passes right next to the archaeological site of Olbia. The Almanarre Plage hotel has the “Accueil Vélo” label.

Whether to discover the know-how linked to salt or the fauna and flora of a wetland, the Pesquiers salt marshes are a true example. Here you can observe pink flamingos, herons, Belon shelducks, avocets, little egrets and other cormorants. Everyone passes through this ornithological refuge, a former salt marsh.
