A beautiful town square featuring a unique mosaic pathway and charming fountains.

The historic fountain is located in the center of Fuente de Piedra. Its origins date back to a natural spring known since ancient times. This spring was venerated by the Romans as Fons Divinus – "Divine Spring" – because its water was believed to have healing powers, particularly against gallstones. The name of the place, "Fuente de Piedra" ("Stone Spring"), derives directly from this spring. Over the centuries, it has remained a central landmark in the community. In the 1990s, the spring was uncovered and restored in the area of today's Plaza de la Constitución, so that today it serves as a historic landmark commemorating the town's Roman origins and long tradition.

Care must be taken in the final part

Passing through Pedera, you must pass by the Parish of San Sebastián de Pedrera, one of its most important monuments. You can get a drink and stock up on supplies whatever your adventure.

Highest point of the Sierra de los Caballos from where you can see the entire population of Sierra de Yeguas and its extension, the Natural Park that is further south, with Laguna de Fuente de Piedra.

A track appears that runs along the ridge of the Sierra de los Caballos and offers very beautiful views of the area. The whole of the small mountain range is dominated by a large number of windmills.

On the parallel Via Verde de las Lagunas you will find this "singular" holm oak. Holm oak cataloged as a singular tree in the municipality of Roda de Andalucía, its crown size of 23 meters stands out, it is approximately 150 years old.

In this locality there are some important and productive quarries from which the name of the municipality comes, since 'pedrera' is synonymous with 'quarry'.
