La Almoraima is one of the three population centers that belong to Castellar de la Frontera. It has just over 100 inhabitants, a railway station and a couple of restaurants. The Monarch Butterfly trail also starts from here, highly recommended.

This viewpoint is located on what was formerly an important Roman road that connected the Campo de Gibraltar with the western bay of Cádiz. It is located within the Los Alcornocales natural park, so it is not difficult to see these trees on the sides of the immense pastures.

Castellar "El Nuevo" is a modern part of Castellar de la Frontera, inaugurated in 1971. The most interesting places in the town are: the Divino Salvador Church with the image of the Santísimo Cristo de la Almoraima and the Plaza Andalucía with a sculpture that commemorates the XXV Anniversary of the creation of the new town and also another sculpture dedicated to Human Rights.
