A beautiful new bench (approx. spring 2026) at the triangular intersection, among other places, on the path from the Struth hiking car park towards the motorway crossing over the A61.

The forest and hiking trail from the start of the "Holzlager" bend on the K22 (between Steeg and Breitscheid) towards Perscheid is easily walkable and suitable for cycling (see photos at the small chapel/wayside shrine). There may be signs of wild boar damage depending on the season. Bicycles with wider tires are recommended. This section is not suitable for racing bikes.

A wonderful view of the Volkenbacher Weiher from the ascent of the stalking path. Just let your eyes wander and relax.

Very nice zoo, some of the animals run free and ask you for food.

There are several slate mines around Steeg where mining continued until the 20th century. The mines are closed with steel bars for safety reasons.
