From 1663 to 1806, the assembly of the Imperial Estates of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation met permanently in the Old Town Hall in Regensburg. Unlike earlier Imperial Diets, it was no longer dissolved after the conclusion of negotiations, but remained in existence indefinitely. The princes and the emperor no longer came to Regensburg in person. Instead, they sent authorized envoys who lived and negotiated there.

Theresia – Space for Ideas in Regensburg is located in the former St. Theresia Church in the Kumpfmühl district. After being deconsecrated in 2024, the building was renovated and converted into a modern cultural and event center. With approximately 340 square meters, it offers space for up to 400 people and is suitable for exhibitions, concerts, lectures, and other public events. With its combination of historic building fabric and a new usage concept, Theresia is a place that combines culture, creativity, and community.
