An absolute classic in the Deeside area, flowy at the top, rocky and slabby as it gets lower.

Spot now on the edge of the mountain bike park. Still great views.

You can only pay with coins at the parking machine.

Lots of vehicle parking (fee).

One of the few cafes in the area. A great stop at the end (or start) of a day hiking. They normally have a range food and drink available including breakfast rolls, coffee, cakes, soup and ice cream. Watch out for the opening hours though: https://www.lagganforest.com/laggan-wolftrax-cafe

One of the best natural MTB trails in the UK, can be quite technical in places.

Site of a bothy with a commemorative plaque which was erected in memory of a keen mountaineer. The bothy has now been removed due to safety concerns. There was a plaque on the building (present whereabouts not known) "To the memory of Jean McIntyre Smith, who trod this was joyfully. March 17, 1948. Cha till I tuillidh" It was erected in her memory by her parents soon after she died. This bothy was removed in 1986 due to safety concerns, following the deaths of three mountaineers who were trying to find it in appalling weather conditions.
