In this region, several bridge structures have been completed or renovated in recent years as part of the expansion of the Olymbia Odos (Corinth-Patras) motorway and to secure local river crossings (such as over the Vouraikos River or smaller streams in the region).

Diakopto often serves as a starting point for excursions into the surrounding mountains, especially towards Kalavryta. Vouraikos Gorge: One of Greece's most famous hikes leads through this gorge. The route often follows the tracks of the cog railway ("Odontotos") and is part of the European long-distance hiking trail E4.

The word "Katafygi" (Καταφύγι) simply means "refuge" or "shelter" in Greek. Since gorges and caves often served as hiding places for the local population during the Ottoman occupation or pirate attacks, numerous places throughout Greece bear this name (e.g., also on the islands of Kythnos or Ikaria).

The lake lies at an altitude of approximately 900 meters near the village of Feneos. A striking feature is the small peninsula that juts out into the lake. The small chapel of Agios Fanourios sits atop it. The lake is surrounded by dense forests and mountains, making it a popular destination for hiking, cycling, and enjoying nature.

Paralia Porovitsa is the coastal settlement of the village of Porovitsa and stretches west of the Krathis River. Beach: It is a rather quiet, authentic pebble beach. Parking and a beach shower are available on site.

The Rodia (or Rodias) waterfront is a tranquil stretch of coastline, renowned for its natural charm and relaxed atmosphere. Compared to larger resorts, it is less commercialized and offers an authentic Greek coastal experience. The beach area consists primarily of fine pebbles and sand, typical for this part of the Gulf of Corinth. From the shore, there are sweeping views across the Gulf of Corinth to the mountains of the mainland opposite.

Due to its location on the edge of the beach, the pebble beach is actually relatively quiet and peaceful even during the season.

To continue along the coastal cycle path, the new bridge, located approximately 1km away, must be used.
