A very challenging trail over rocks. There's a wonderful view from the summit. I recommend climbing Balinovac from the north (counterclockwise). Climbing up the rocks is easier than going down.

Near the trail, a gentle uphill climb to the top offers a beautiful view of the Kukovi rocks, the Adriatic Sea and islands.

It is better to hike anti-clockwise! There are some places where you have to climb. Good footwear and mountain experience are required.

View from the mountain top. You might not be allowed to ride or push the bike there, but the view is still worth at least walking there.

This forested peak provides beautiful views across the Velebit Mountains. Visible from the top are Veliki Zavižan to the west and Mali Rajinac to the south east, among others. The less lofty Mali Pivčevac rises to the north.

Velika kosa, at 5,314 feet (1,620 m), is a peak in the Northern Velebit, just to the north of the Velebit Botanical Garden. It's a short ascent from the Zavižan mountain hut to reach the summit. Your reward is magnificent views across the Velebit massif and out to the islands of the Adriatic Sea.

Easy hike via Velika Kosa. A bit of climbing over large rocks towards the peak, but no big deal. It is marked in Cro Mountain rescue service map as dangerous, but in my opinion the danger is very low. If you are VERY short, this route might be a bit difficult. Descent over loose gravel is easy. I wouldn't climb in the opposite direction.
