Beautiful spot with fresh water, unfortunately little shade.

Beautiful lake, unfortunately very few access points

The bee-eater colony on Ungerberg, a fine vineyard in Weiden am See, is a must-see. It's reminiscent of the sandstone dwellings of the Nabataeans in Petra, Jordan. In summer, you can also enjoy the colorful birds themselves. But please shhh. The fantastic view from Ungerberg of Lake Neusiedl and the vineyards is best enjoyed in peace anyway.

The palace was built between 1701 and 1711 as a hunting lodge for Emperor Charles VI. In 1945, the palace was plundered by Soviet occupation troops, and in 1949, it largely burned down. Only the central section of the main building survived; the side wings were gradually reconstructed.

A nice little public swimming pool. Designed as a natural pool, without chemicals. Ample sunbathing lawns in the sun and shade of trees.

The Leiner Cross (also known as the Plague Column) is located in Neusiedl am See, near the train station on Weinriedenweg, on the cycle path towards Jois. It is a narrow tabernacle pillar with shallow round-arch niches, surmounted by a stone cross. According to the inscription from 1710, the column was donated by a certain Jacob Gruber. The vow refers to his rescue from the Turks. The monument was later named "Leiner Cross" after its first restorer; the last restoration was carried out by the Wilhelm family (see also the inscription). The Neusiedler See cycle path leads directly past the Leiner Cross.

Model airfield where "spectators" are welcome

I've been in the area many times, but I wasn't familiar with this chapel. Therefore, I think this place deserves to be called a highlight. Highly recommended.
